MY STORY

MY MISSION

After two-and-a-half decades in the marketing world, I’ve learned a lot of lessons. Sometimes through successes. Other times through failures. Whether working one-on-one with a client, speaking at an event or through this website, I want to share my experiences (the good and the bad) to help marketers make high-impact decisions to reach their goals.

EARLY LIFE

Born and raised in Texas, I had an itch to go into politics after spending a week at Boys State—a summer leadership and citizenship program for high schoolers. My college years were a deep dive into politics at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Summers spent interning on Capitol Hill gave me Potomac Fever, so much so that I worked on a presidential campaign. My path took a few unexpected turns and after I graduated with a bachelor’s in political science, I left the world of politics and accepted a position in a small advertising agency.

PRESENT DAY

Though my marketing career started inside a small agency, I went on to work at two global agencies and a global digital media company. But, thanks to my dad’s example, I always had the desire to be an entrepreneur. I returned to school and received an MBA from Georgetown University where I graduated with honors. In 2004, I co-founded MSIGHTS to help marketers through better data, presorting and analytics…and I wrote a book about it.

Over the years, I’ve worked with brands, including Sprint, FedEx, Verizon, AOL, Samsung and SAP. I’ve learned a lot of lessons and met incredible people along the way. I wouldn’t be where I am today without some of those people being advocates for me. And that’s what I want to be for others. That’s why I provide tips, insights and encouragement to help marketers make great decisions.
